As the Town of Legal is not a member and does not contribute to the Northern Lights Library System or any other independent Library systems across Alberta, Council has determined a need to reimburse residents within the Town of Legal limits who wish to access a public library system.
Any Town of Legal resident who purchases an annual library membership will be entitled for reimbursement from the Town for the cost of library fees up to a maximum of $50.00 per year per household.
Documentation will be required when applying for the reimbursement. The applicant may be required to provide original documentation confirming residency. This may be in the form of a letter or email from the property owner advising the Town that the applicant resides on his/her property, a Town of Legal utility bill, tax notice or all of the above.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Applicants must reside in the Town of Legal for a minimum of 90 days.
