Bylaw Enforcement and Peace Officer Services Overview
The Town of Legal contracts Bylaw Enforcement and Peace Officer services from Sturgeon County pursuant to the Enforcement Services Agreement. 364 hours of combined Bylaw Enforcement and Peace Officer services are provided per year.
Bylaws are written to protect the environment, private and public property, ensure high standards of public health and safety, and maintain an orderly appearance for the Town. Bylaw Enforcement Officers ensure bylaws are followed and traffic violations are minimized by patrolling the community and responding to complaints.
