The Utility Pre-Authorized Payment Plan is an easy and convenient way to pay your utility bill because it removes all the hassle. Automatic payments ensures that your utility bill is paid on time.

This Quick Guide tells you everything you need to know about the pre-authorized program such as, how to join the program, what happens if you miss a payment, how to withdraw from the plan and much more.

The Town offers paper free utility billing. To register for enrollment in the paper free utility program, please complete the form below and return it to the Town Office.

Throughout the year, the Town of Legal provides Waste Program Initiatives to enhance the waste management system.

The Town Wide Spring and Fall Large Item Pickups are part of the Town's waste and beautification initiative; a program where you can place unwanted items in your front yard for someone else to reuse. Leftover items will be picked up for disposal at the Landfill.

ANNUAL SPRING LARGE ITEM PICKUP

TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 2024

Special notes:

• All large items are to be put out at the front of your property for collection (no back alley collection).
• All items must be less than 6 feet by 3 feet (1.8 metres x 0.9 metres) and weigh less then 200 lbs. (90 kg).

Some examples of acceptable items for collection include:

• Stoves
• Barbecues (no tanks)
• Washer & Dryers
• Lawnmower (all fluid drained)
• Mattress & Box Springs
• Rain Barrels
• Furniture
• Snowblower (all fluid drained)
• Sinks
• Lawn furniture
• Toilets
• Wheelbarrow

RV Fridges and Freon bearing appliances require a $20.00 disposal fee payable prior to pick up. Call the Town Office to pay & register for Freon pickup.

The following items will NOT be picked up and is the responsibility of the Homeowner:

Agricultural chemical containers, liquids, paint, sewage/septic tanks, hazardous waste, toxic waste, chemical or chemical waste, radioactive waste, oil & filters, tires & rims, vehicle hulks, antifreeze, asbestos, tar, drums, batteries, animal waste.

Roseridge Landfill

Residential Landfill Permits

The fee for the Roseridge Residential Landfill permit is $5.00 which allows up to 1,000kg of waste disposal. The Landfill permit issued is for the Calendar year (January 1^st to December 31^st) and are reactivated each year with a fee.

To purchase the Residential Landfill Permit, contact the Town Office at 780-961-3773, or visit at 5021 50 St, Legal AB.

The Landfill Permit card that you will receive is a permanent card for the property, that will require to be reactivated each calendar year. Be advised, a new landfill permit card will not be issued each year.

As per Bylaw #08-2023, the overage fees for excess weight being brought to the Roseridge Landfill are as follows:

• Weights totaling between 1,001kg and 2,500kg will be charged $43.32 per 1,000kg on the utility bill in January of the following calendar year as a “Landfill Overage” charge.
• All weights in excess of 2,501kg will be charged fees as specified by Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission. Fees will be charged directly to user by Roseridge Waste Management Services Commission on location at waste disposal site at time of waste disposal.

Freon extraction charges are $20.00.
