Legal Arena - COVID-19 Update (11/25/20)
New mandatory public health measures are in place in communities across Alberta to protect the health system and slow the spread of COVID-19. The Town of Legal is following the measures put in place by the province.
Therefore all hockey activities in the Legal Arena have been cancelled effective November 13 until further notice. No private bookings will be taken.
The arena facility will be closed during this time.
The Town of Legal will be watching closely over the next weeks to see the results of the temporary shutdown as provided by Alberta Health Services. We plan to keep everyone updated as more information or recommendations come from Alberta Health Services and the Province of Alberta.
The Town has implemented guidelines and restrictions to conform with the recommended protocols and guidelines set by Alberta Health Services.
The Arena is located at 4720-51 Avenue in Legal. The facility can accommodate up to 250 people and offers heated bleacher areas to ensure spectators get the most out of their experience. Additionally, wheelchair accessible seating is available. There are four large dressing rooms for players and a one referee room. The arena lobby has a kitchen plus two large restrooms.
In Legal, we encourage physical activity and take every effort to remove barriers in order for people to participate. Be advised due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Public Skating in the Legal Arena has been cancelled at this time. Private rentals are available upon booking requests. Outdoor Skating Rink
Legal has a well-designed outdoor ice rink with lights and boards for your enjoyment. The facility is located beside the Arena at 4720 - 51 Avenue. This facility is available at no cost. Come on down you with skates for a morning, afternoon or evening of fun.
The Outdoor Rink is will open to the public this winter! When the rink opens, be reminded to use at your own risk - the rink is not supervised. Please show courtesy to the younger users of the facility. Be advised, due to the future of COVID-19 regulations, closure could be required upon short notice. (opening is weather dependent).
Curling Club
The Curling Club is located at 4720-51 Avenue and includes four playing sheets and two rest rooms in the foyer. The newly renovated lounge overlooks the playing surface and includes a bar and small kitchen. The arena's lobby hosts a kitchen, wheelchair accessible seating area and two large restrooms.
